"I was very disappointed with the price of the service. I used a coupon worth $65 toward a service call, which created the business. In the past 35 years I have always used and been satisfied with Overhead Door. I am a victim of my own greed and I freely admit it. I called because our 17 year old foam-core steel insulated door was very noisy in its tracks and you had to hold the button on the inside of the garage door down 3 times and hold it down until it was closed. Also our remotes were working sporadically. Dustin called to come early before our appointment. I could not get there before he started. He talked with my wife for authorization, and she not knowing anything about garage doors said yes to an estimate of $300-$599. She authorized it so it is my mistake. He was here for about an hour. He replaced all of the rollers, 3 different bearings, replaced two springs even though they were not broken and adjusted the sensor at the bottom of the door. The entire bill AFTER the $65 discount was $655.00 and change. I told him for that amount I could have installed a new door similar to what I have. He said that would have been $1400. The last foam core steel sided raised panel 17' x 7' I had installed by Overhead Door was $745. Most of this is my error for allowing my wife to authorize work that she new nothing about. Second mistake was allowing him access to start without my presence and / or a breakdown of the estimate . My third mistake was "finger signing" iPad forms where the screen does not simultaneously display what you are signing. He had a breakdown on his tablet but did not review it with me prior to initialing it. Dustin was kind and knowledgeable, but my seller had just replaced those springs last year, and he said that they were "too weak" to hold the door up. I think a MUCH BETTER business model would be to type up the estimate, review with the owner BEFORE the work is done. A mobile printer could solve the problem of getting a copy of what you are signing. Dustin was here about an hour. As I say, I made many mistakes, but also feel VERY taken advantage of and I have not yet filed a comment with the BBB, ANGIE'S LIST, GOOGLE comments or any other media, but I am NOT a happy customer!!"
